On May 6th, the City of Norwich will be participating in a Road Safety Audit (RSA) of Route 82 with the Connecticut Department of Transportation.
This Road Safety Audit is a result of US DOT Secretary Foxx’s initiative for Safer People, Safer Streets. The RSA in the Route 82 corridor, from New London Turnpike to the Intermodal Transportation Center (ITC) off of Falls Avenue, will focus on pedestrian and bicycles as a focus because there are non-motorized safety challenges present.
The walking audit is set to take place on May 6th 2015 at 8:00 am with local, state, federal, and other stakeholders being asked to participate. The end product, due June 30th 2015, will be a white paper report on existing and future issues that highlight and address gaps in our non-motorized network and will serve as a design tool for an upcoming corridor project now in the Preliminary Design phase.
