What are the rules for maintenance of shrubs, trees, and bushes on my property?
The Norwich Code of Ordinances requires property owners to maintain sidewalks in front on on the side of their property.

Overgrown tree limbs, shrubs, and bushes that block the passage on sidewalks or city streets are violations of the code.

If property owners fail to maintain trees or shrubs on their property, the Department of Public Works will take action to trim or remove vegetation at the property owner's expense.
