The Norwich Public Parking Commission monitors the downtown area only.
Most of the parking facilities have both metered and reserved parking. Public Parking is restricted to meters in the lots and garages, Any space without a meter, is a reserved space for monthly renters.
There are timed zones throughout the downtown for on-street parking. Check the signs on the street before you leave your vehicle for the time limit of your area. Norwich has a policy to limit "same" street parking to once per 24 hour period. For more information relating to local parking regulations, please feel free to call the Commission office.
EZ PARK PASS is available for daily off-street parking. The fee is $5.00/day. Passes are available from Parking Commission personnel or at the Parking Commission Office.
If you have a reserved spot - use it! This will help keep the on-street parking open for customers. Remember that when you park on the street and also have a reserved spot - you are tying up two spaces!
If you have a problem with a parking meter - please contact us immediately! We will be happy to correct the problem and put time on the meter for you.
If you wish to protest a summons there is a procedure in place. However, the protest must be filed within 48 hours of receipt of the summons.
Summons must be paid within 48 hours of summons issue, after that the fine doubles.
There is a validation program for shoppers in downtown. Have participating merchants validate your overtime parking ticket (violation 1 and 2 only). This program is not valid for employees downtown.
If you have any questions, please contact the commission office. |
