Mission Statement: It is the mission of the staff and the policies of the Rose City Senior
Center to offer recreational, educational, social, health, and human service programs, which
are designed to foster independence and community involvement, for persons age 55 and older.
The Senior Center—A Closer Look: The Norwich Senior Center was established in 1974.
After the construction of the new building in 1994, the name was changed to the Rose City
Senior Center. The City of Norwich, Community Development, Senior Resources—Agency
on Aging, and other state and local grants provide funding.

How do you get to the Rose City Senior Center?
|
From Hartford:
Take Route 84 to East Hartford. Follow Route 2 East to Norwich. The highway will end at a set of lights. Go straight at this intersection. You will be on Route 169 (Harland Road). Go to the first traffic light (about ½ mile) and turn right onto Ox Hill Road. Go about 1/8 of a mile and turn right onto Mahan Drive. The Senior Center is a large tan building on the left side of the road. Use the front entrance.
From North and South of Norwich:
Follow Route 395. Get off at Exit 81-E onto Route 2 East. Follow Route 2 East to Norwich. The highway will end at a set of lights. Go straight at this intersection. FITNESS ROOM Application—Current members may apply to use our fitness room. The Physian Questionnaire will need to be signed by your physian and returned to us along with the member's Release and Waiver form before using the equipment.
MEMBERSHIP Application—A current membership assures you of the opportunity to sign up for classes and participate in the various programs and groups sponsored by the Senior Center. The yearly fee of $25.00 covers membership from July 1st through June 30th. New Membership: 1/2 year = $12.00 (Jan-June)
VOICES - Our monthly Newsletter—Includes listings of regular services, special programs and a variety of articles on happenings in the Senior Center community. Items may include info on: Day-Trips, Mini-Trips, schedule for local Grocery Shopping and transportation to the Center, Sunshine Corner/Birthday Celebration, Library News, Greenhouse updates, Golden Nuggets activities, and "Help Your Neighbor". Have an idea for something you would like to see in the newsletter? We would love to know about it.
