For over 70 years, Norwich Human Services has provided social services to Norwich residents. Our department is an umbrella agency encompassing three divisions: Adult and Family Services, Youth and Family Services, and the Rose City Senior Center. In addition, Norwich Human Services oversees the Norwich Municipal Child Care Center. We have a highly skilled Adult and Family Case Management Staff with extensive knowledge of area resources. Norwich Human Services plays a leadership role on the local, regional and state level in addressing the needs of our low income residents and the City's homeless population. We provide nationally recognized occupational skills training and employment support services to Norwich's unskilled and/or underemployed workforce.
Norwich Human Services provides assistance based upon the individualized needs of adults and families. Progams and services include, but are not limited to case management services, help with Department of Social Services applications, emergency rent/mortgage assistance, heat and utility assistance, food resources, Relocation assistance, aid to relative guardians who have care of minor chidlren, pharmacy assistance, childcare assistance, backpack program, and a variety of other programs designed to improve the quality of life of our residents in need.

Funding for the services provided by Norwich Human Services, are made possible through annual City of Norwich general fund allocations, State and Federal grants, contributions from private and non-profit organizations, local foundations, neighborhood groups, the Faith community and private citizens.
