CONDITIONS REGARDING APPOINTMENT TO BOARDS, ETC.

Resolution Adopted by Norwich City Council on November 30, 1987:

 

BE IT RESOLVED, that all individuals appointed to any Board, Agency, or Commission of the City of Norwich must be registered voters of the City of Norwich and be up to date in payment of property taxes.

Pursuant to Chapter 18, Section 12 of the Charter for the City of Norwich: Any person, other than a member of the city council, appointed to any agency, commission, or board of the City of Norwich, who is absent from three (3) consecutive meetings, shall immediately upon the happening of such event, be considered removed from such agency, commission or board of the City of Norwich. Promptly thereafter, the appointing authority shall make an appointment to fill the vacancy.

Pursuant to Chapter 18, Section 10 of the Charter for the City of Norwich:The terms of office for members of any city commission or board appointed by the council or chief executive officer under the provisions of this charter, or any ordinance or other law shall be for two years. In the event of any conflict between this section and any other section of the charter, ordinance or other law, the terms of this section shall prevail. (Amendment of 11-5-91)
