Property Rehab Program
Private homeowners or investors with property in the City of Norwich who rent to low or moderate-income people may be eligible for property rehabilitation loans at 0% interest. These loans may be used for lead abatement or other repairs needed to make the property compliant with the local building code. Please call Wayne Sharkey for information at 823-3776. Applications as well as Policy and Procedures can be downloaded below, under the "Forms and Documents" heading.
Childcare Assistance Program
Assistance with childcare expense in the amount of up to $1200 per eligible family is payable to the licensed provider of Norwich residents for eligible children. This program will not duplicate assistance for a child receiving a subsidy through another program but will assist for the care of a child not receiving a subsidy, even if a sibling is receiving a subsidy. Please contact LeAnn Gomes at 860-823-3778. The family must be within the following income guidelines:
Family 1: $17,500
Family 2: $20,000
Family 3: $22,500
Family 4: $24,950
Family 5: $26,950
Family 6: $28,950
Family 7: $30,950
Family 8: $32,950
Job Training in Health Sciences
Tuition assistance is available for income eligible Norwich residents to attain skills in health science fields including certified nurses aides, patient care technicians and medical billing. The job-training program assists income-eligible Norwich residents already accepted to registered nursing programs with their tuition expenses.
