Tax Collection
Description
This function is done by the tax collector, collector of delinquent taxes, and revenue clerks. They generate tax bills based on the mill rate set by the City Council in the adopted budget and the grand list from the assessor and collect the taxes levied.

If you have any green envelopes that you received in your tax bill for payment of property taxes to the City of Norwich, please discard and do not use them.  We have found that some of these envelopes have experienced problems in delivery which has caused payments to take longer to be received at the Tax Office.

How to Pay Taxes Online & Convenience Fees

Taxes can be paid directly from the Tax Bill Inquiry screen. View your bill and click the green shopping cart under "Pay Online."

Payments are accepted from ACH, credit, or debit cards. Convenience fees apply.

Please see the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) regarding paying your tax bills online when you have delinquent taxes and need a Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles "clearance" to register or reregister a vehicle.

Please note: All delinquent motor vehicle and personal property tax bills from the 2010 Grand List and prior must be paid to the collection agency Rossi Law Office LTD. Their phone number is (800) 647-6774.
