CITY OF NORWICH EVICTION AUCTION NOTICE
In accordance with Connecticut General Statutes §47a-42, the City of Norwich hereby advertises the auction sale of contents associated with an eviction that recently occurred at the following address: 380 Washington Street, Norwich, CT 06360
The auction of these eviction contents will be held at 9:00 am on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at Public Works Storage, 19 Park Center Road, Norwich, CT 06360.
Auction rules, regulations, and procedures are as follows:
1. Location will be open for VISUAL inspection at 8:45 a.m. on the auction date. Picking thru contents will NOT be allowed.
2. If there are multiple evictions listed, the contents of each eviction will be sold thru a separate auction.
3. The winning bidder MUST remove all eviction contents by 2:00 p.m. on the day of the auction.
4. The starting bid price for all auctions is $50.00. The “winning” balance must be paid in the form of cash or money order before the contents of the unit can be removed.
5. The winning bidder MUST post a $50.00 cash or money order (“pay to” left blank) deposit at the time of the auction to ensure that ALL contents will be promptly picked up. Deposit will be returned after Public Works deems contents are completely removed.
6. The winning bidder will be required to fill out a short form asking for his/her name, address, and contact information and to verify the information provided with a driver’s license or other suitable picture identification.
7. Because evicted parties have a statutory right to claim their possessions within 15 days of the execution of an eviction, auctions can be cancelled at any time without notice.
8. All contents are sold as-is, where-is and are not warrantied in any way.
9. The Norwich Department of Public Works is administering these auctions.
